The Aqua Freed® Process & Advantages
Environmentally Friendly Well Rehabilitation and Restoration
The Aqua Freed® Process Explained:
Step One: WRS personnel study the well data to determine the correct placement of the packer. After the pump is pulled, a packer is inserted to the desired depth to confine and direct the carbon dioxide to the treatment area. Then, gaseous carbon dioxide is injected through the packer into the well, producing a highly abrasive carbons acid solution and penetrating far into the surrounding formation.
Step Two: Liquefied carbon dioxide is injected at various temperatures and pressures. When the liquefied carbon dioxide comes in contact with the water, it expands rapidly, producing tremendous agitation. The continued, controlled injection of the liquefied carbon dioxide produces and remove mineral encrustation, biological fouling and physical plugging.
Step Three: After treatment with gaseous and liquid carbon dioxide, the well is mechanically developed using surge/airlift methods to remove the newly dislodged particulate matter from the well and formation.
Step Four: The well pump is then reinstalled and the well is tested and returned to service, providing an increased supply of water for its intended use.
Aqua Freed® Advantages
Before you incur the expense of drilling a new well, consider all your options. We specialize in water well repair and rehabilitation and encourage you to “Think Big Before You Dig.”
100% ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE
Because Aqua Freed does not use any harmful acids or chemicals, there is no adverse environmental impact.
MAXIMUM FORMATION PENETRATION
Traditional chemical, or mechanical treatment efforts, result in localized effectiveness. The Aqua Freed process achieves excellent penetration into formations at greater distances from the well, where plugging is often difficult to remove.
EFFECTIVE
The Aqua Freed process can fully restore water well capacity. It can also improve the quality of water degraded by biochemical activity.
Results demonstrably superior.
SHORT DOWN TIME
Because fewer steps are required, Aqua Freed can often return wells to service in less time than traditional methods. A typical treatment time averages three days.
ECONOMICAL
The superior penetration achieved by the Aqua Freed process results in greater cost effectiveness because it often extends the life of the treatment well beyond that of the other methods. Since carbon dioxide dissipates naturally, there are no hauling or disposal costs.
VERSATILITY OF USE
Aqua Freed is excellent from gravel pack wells, open hole wells, horizontal collector wells, environmental monitor and recovery wells.
